Your Rights as a Client

At Spark and Pivot Counseling, we are committed to transparency and ensuring you understand your rights as a therapy client in Texas.

​

Per Texas House Bill 4224 (effective September 1, 2025), all licensed counselors must provide clients with clear information about accessing records, contacting our licensing board, and filing complaints if needed.​

Requesting Your Health Care Records

​

You have the right to request your health care records at any time.

​

We will provide your records within the timeframe required by Texas law. There may be a reasonable fee for copying and administrative costs associated with fulfilling your request.

Raising Questions, Concerns or Complaints

​

We want to hear from you. If something about your experience at Spark and Pivot Counseling doesn't feel right, we genuinely hope you'll feel comfortable talking with your counselor about it first. If you'd prefer to speak with our clinical director instead, Megan is always available:

You also have the protected right to file a formal complaint with our licensing board or the Texas Attorney General's office. We respect this process and want you to know all of your options.
