Counselor, Rockwall County Jail

2022 - Current

Counsel inmates experiencing wide range of mental health disorders (bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, PTSD, MDD, panic disorder, anxiety, personality disorders) and substance abuse challenges. Goals span from grief processing, release transition planning and sobriety support, identity and values alignment, boundaries development, relationship transitions, to trigger identification and management. Also support in mental status evaluations for inmates in crisis

and referrals to psychiatry based on differential diagnoses. Under the supervision of Kelley Akins, M.S., LPC-S, Director of Behavioral Health.

Therapist, Push Counseling

2022 - Current

Provide psychological assessment and counseling services to birthing parents requiring mental health support during and after pregnancy. Specialties: fertility issues, perinatal loss (miscarriage, stillbirth, TFMR), traumatic birth and NICU, high-risk pregnancy. Under the supervision of Dr. Tiffany Wicks, LPC-S.

Licensed Professional Counselor Associate

2023 - 2028

Under the supervision of Barbara Armitage, MA, LPC-S.

5-year professional license earned for having met the qualifications established in the Texas Occupations Code, Chapter 503, to practice the profession of counseling. 

National Certified Counselor (NCC)

2023 - 2028

5-year certification awarded by National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) for meeting all professional counseling standards set by the board.

Master of Science, Clinical Mental Health

December 2022

Completed 60-credit hours of didactic and clinical training under the Supervision of faculty at Southern Methodist University (SMU). Training focused on individual therapy, with special concentrations in LGBTQ+ affirmative therapy and career counseling. Additional Executive Coaching training received in SMU's Liberal Arts program.

Conducted career counseling and advising sessions with high-performing medical and public health students as pre-licensed intern. Evaluated aptitude, interest and personality assessments to inform plans. Coached students on medical school interviewing, resume and curriculum vitae creation, job search and transitions, and personal statement development.

2018 - 2022

Established marketing and experience strategy center of excellence (COE) for global marketing services and technology agency. Accountable for team performance optimization, change management, and new capability development for COE and led integrated service design efforts between strategy, media, analytics, and creative prior to that assignment. Served as lead strategist and consultant to major clients, and guided agency's internal strategic planning efforts to inform business goals, go-to-market strategy, and communications plans. Co-founded agency's first LGBTQ+ employee resource group.
